TYPES OF HAUNTINGS

Understanding the type of haunting you are experiencing  is important to ensure that East Durham Paranormal Research Group provides the right support to those in need. Here are the four main types of hauntings.

Residual Haunting

They are typically characterized by the repeated, almost mechanical replaying of past events, seemingly independent of any interaction with the present environment.

Intelligent Haunting

Unlike residual hauntings, which are typically repetitive and non-interactive, intelligent hauntings involve conscious beings that appear to have a will or intention, able to respond to stimuli or communicate with those present in the environment.

Poltergeist Haunting

Unlike residual or intelligent hauntings, poltergeist activity is characterized by physical disturbances that seem to involve the manipulation of objects, the production of loud noises, and sometimes even direct physical harm to those in the vicinity.

Inhuman Haunting

Unlike traditional hauntings, which often involve spirits of deceased humans, inhuman hauntings are believed to involve entities or forces that are not human in nature—sometimes categorized as demonic, malevolent, or otherworldly beings.
